Search by "Dimensions"
I recommend going to the FAQ page first to calculate the minimum dimensions needed, once they are known, go to the dimension fields, then type in the height in inches only. ( Height is the same as the depth). Next, type in the width in inches. ( Width is the same as length). The height dimension is always the smaller of the two dimensions. If you were to hit the search button now, you would bring up all the stones in the inventory that are greater then the dimensions you typed in. Depending on your download speeds, you can control how many listings per page. When the search results come up, you can click on any of the red I.D. numbers and a photo of that stone will pop up. If you want to see thumbnails of all the search results, put a check mark in the box that says " Show Images", this will then display the thumbnail photos, to see the enlarged photo, click on the red I.D. number next to it.
Search by "Name of Stone"
The name of stone search field is a alphabetical drop down window. Use the scroll bar to find the name of stone you are looking for. Many importers are putting thier own names on the stone, in time will be adding a ( AKA List) to help. If you know your dimensions and the name of the stone, this will refine your search and filter out the stones that are to small.
Search by "Type of Stone"
The type of stone field is a drop down menu with the most common types of stone that are in our inventory. If you knew the size of the stone and the type, but not the " Name of Stone", your search will bring up all of that type of stone that are of the dimensions you requested in the dimension field. If no dimensions are listed, it will bring up all of the stone of that type. I don't recommend this for the granite due to our large inventory and the time it would take to download.
Sorting by Text Fields:
Before using the "Show Images" feature, all of your search results come up in a text listing with the fields in this order, ID (In Red), Name,Height, Width, Sq. Foot, Price (Per Square Foot), and Amount for the total price for that piece of stone. As with any database, these fields may be sorted. If you click on the ID, it will sort from smallest to the largest ID, click it again and it will sort from the largest to the smallest ID in the current inventory, If you go to the next field and do the same thing to the name, it sorts alphabetically from A to Z, click again and it will sort from Z to A. All the fields work this way. An example of using this may be for someone on a tight budget looking for an inexpensive stone, if they click on the amount field, they would get the least expensive stone first, if they were looking for a higher end exotic stone, you could click again and get the most expensive stones first.
